Swwapnil Joshi, Ankush Chaudhari fight for MICTA 2013

The Mhaiskar MICTA (Marathi International Cinema and Theatre Awards) 2013 will be held from September 27 to 29 in Macau. A brainchild of filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar and known as MIFTA till last year, MICTA this year will be organised in association with Maharashtra Kalanidhi. This year the Garv Maharashtracha honour will be conferred upon NCP president Sharad Pawar and actor Nana Patekar.

The MICTA Film and Drama Festival of 10 shortlisted films and 10 plays was this year held in Pune from September 1 to 7. Veteran filmmaker Dr Jabbar Patel inaugurated the film festival at City Pride Kothrud while legendary actor Dr Shriram Lagoo had opened the drama festival at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium on September 1.

The 10 Marathi films shown during the festival included 72 Miles Ek Pravas, Aajcha Diwas Majha, Anumati, Aayna Ka Bayna, Balak Palak, Dhag, Duniyadari, Investment, Premachi Gosht, and Time Please. The 10 plays that were staged included Dry Day, Du And Mee, Ekda Pahava Na Karun, Family Drama, Get Well Soon, Proposal, Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta, Sukhant, Thashta, and Une Pune Ek Shahar.
